Who Am I? Wow, that’s a loaded question. When you go to write something like this for yourself you realize just what DEFINES you. I’m a mom. I’m a wife. I’m a researcher. I love good food but don’t necessarily like to cook. I love to exercise…hold that…I love sanity time with my friends and without my kids therefore I love exercise. Yep, that basically defines me.
My journey with health and wellness began back in 2006 when my first child was born. You really view the world differently when you are in charge of raising another human. I started to question things I had taken for granted my entire life. Is the food on our plate that we are now sharing with our daughter actually healthy bc it is crazy bland in color? I can’t stop eating the oreos-could there be a reason behind this? Wait a minute-shouldn’t peanut butter just be ground peanuts? This bubbly spray that cleans my shower well doesn’t allow me to breath while using it and has a ton of warnings on the back label. Is it safe?
This process continued until I was introduced to the world of self-development. With that I found an entire group of people in the Health and Wellness industry that preached the same information I had been researching for years. So I was on the right track? It seems foolish looking back that it took me so long to realize that I could reach so many more people than those that were in my direct circle. Fast-forward to today and I have decided to officially start a Health Coaching business. Looking back, I have been coaching people for years…why not make it official?
I intend to give us caretakers permission to take care of ourselves. Whether it is our children, our significant other or our parents, we are constantly taking care of others. It is important to recognize that unless we put ourselves first, we will no longer be able to care for others. Through building a relationship, education and experimentation together we will find what works in your life and for your body so that you can reach the goals that you gave up on a long time ago. I wish I had someone guiding me all those years ago.
I look forward to hearing your story and why you feel a Health Coach would benefit you!
